delachaise has one of the more interesting bar food menus I've ever seen.. I've never actually eaten there though.

Best bar food in the city, imho, is at Cooter Browns.

I ended up taking them to Coop's because I had been to all of the other places suggested in the thread and wanted to try something new.
I really liked the rabbit and sausage jambalaya and the fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The gumbo and red beans and rice were decent but nothing too special about them. The only thing that I didn't really enjoy was the shrimp creole. My favorite dish that I tried was probably the Chicken Tchoupitoulas. The cream sauce was delicious and the shrimp and tasso added a nice kick.
It was crowded so the bartender was a little slow with drinks but very friendly. The waitress was rude/psychotic, but I guess I would be the same if I worked in the service industry in the quarter so it didn't really bother me.
Overall, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They played Galactic, Dr John, and Rebirth for the entire 2 hours that I was there, which I loved. My only real complaint is that it felt like it was in the 50's outside but 40's in the bar. I have no idea how they got the place so cold, but it was noticeably warmer when we walked out the front door.
Thanks for the idea

I like the bar at Mondo in Lakeview
It's a good place for eating at the bar IMO
Other than that I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said

I wish you would've seen this thread and made that suggestion last night. Two of the people I was with live in Lakeview and I've never been to Mondo. I'll have to check it out next time. I did have a good time at Coop's though.

It's not really much of a bar atmosphere but they do have a couple of TVs in the bar area
I haven't been in a while actually

One of my favorite bars, but I used to eat there 3-4 nights a week. I've been trying to add more variety the past few months.

How much is the "kobe beef burger" at GB anyway? $15? Pretty much guarantee its not actually kobe beef to begin with.

According to veteran and highly respected food critic Tom Fotzmorris, the Port O Call has one of the best burgers in the city.
