Going on Kentucky Bourbon Trail in a few days...UPDATE

Anyone had experience with it before? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Going to three distilleries on Thursday, camping Thursday night, then three more distilleries on Friday.
UPDATE:
Went to Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey, Heaven Hill, Willet, and Maker's Mark.
Buffalo Trace was definitely a great addition and had a very homey feel to it from the moment you step inside.
Woodford was on miles of beautiful horse farms and had an upscale feel to it.
Wild Turkey was great despite not being in production at the moment. Free shot glass at end of the tour. Tour guide was the grandchild of the Russell family master distiller which added a cool insight to the family.
Heaven Hill was probably the most informational tour with a phenomenal Bourbon Heritage Center despite not having onsite distillation.
Willet was slightly disappointing. It's definitely on a smaller scale but the tour guide didn't seem to know her facts and couldn't hear anything over construction. Did come with a free glass though.
Maker's Mark was the best overall including information, grounds, equipment, etc. from the bourbon flavored coffee while you are waiting to the promotional dipping of the bottles at the end. The Maker's Mark select bourbon was the best bourbon the whole trip.
Overall had a great time and breakfast at Mammy's Kitchen in Bardstown was phenomenal. Would recommend the trip to anyone!

Just did it last month. Willett distillery is right across the street from Heaven Hill, so I would suggest hitting that one up as well.
Any reason you aren't going to Buffalo Trace? It's a better tour than wild turkey, Jim Beam or heaven hill IMO.
You can try and do the connoisseur room at HH and try some better bourbons.
Barton 1792 is also in Bardstown if you wanted to add that on.
Specific tours that come to mind as better: Buffalo trace - hardhat tour and beyond the barrel tour. Woodford corn to cork. All of these are special tours you need reservations for
Any specific questions let me know

Buffalo Trace is not technically on the Bourbon Trail and since we had a limited time frame we figured we would keep to the actual trail.
I have no doubt it's probably a great tour and I would rather go there than Four Roses and Heaven Hill. The group decided otherwise and to stick to the trail.
I think we are generally sticking to the regular tours minus one (poor graduate student).

Not going to Buffalo Trace or Bulleit is a big mistake IMHO

Bulleit I can understand because its all the way in Louisville, but not seeing buffalo trace is a waste. The whole bourbon trail is purely marketing BS that they simply are too big to care about

Woodford is on a really cool property. The best tour that we did.
Four Roses was a blast, our "tour" was nothing more than a tasting and the lady was pretty tanked. She let us have as much bourbon as we wanted.

Makers mark is amazing, sign up for ambassador and name a barrel... They'll email you in 6 years when it's ready and you can buy some bottles
