When was the last time either of you witnessed a sand lot game of B-ball or football? I know that parents eons ago made you get off your arse and into the outdoors if the weather was good.
In the 70's and early 80's really, there was nothing to do indoors besides watch soap operas. It sucked huge, so being punished from going outside was the worst. Growing up, there was a constant game of something going on, well into HS years, be it sandlot football, soccer, basketball, baseball, skate boarding, or we would make it up on the fly, or bike racing, tennis, building tree houses, swings, swimming, etc. The worst thing was when the lights came on and we had to go home.
Truth be known, in the summer, we weren't allowed in the house, would get sandwiches on the patio, and cool off with the hose. The only inside activity we really were involved in was Saturdays at Skate City.
