The Merchant (new place under the overpass) has a really nice patio, and they do a $8.99 lunch special each day. Plus their regular lunch menu is pretty good.
Another casual place with a good patio would be City Pork on Jefferson Hwy. Or Bistro Byronz on Government.

Yeah, my wife went there yesterday for lunch. She got a fried pork chop, mashed potatoes and broccoli/cauliflower. Said it was really good. The photo looked great.

I'm starting to believe ya'll don't know the meaning of the term "hole in the wall". The Merchant, Parrain's, City Pork, Curbside, Roberto's, Sammy's, etc are NOT hole in the wall restaurants!

No offense to anyone, but many of these places I'd hardly classify as "Hole in the Wall" places, at least not by my definition. Here are my recs:
Dorothy's
Cafe Express
Pinetta's
El Limon
Jasmine's on the Bayou
Riverside Patty
Mr. Taco
I'll also give a shout out to Thai Pepper, since it's my favorite lunch spot in town.

Zippy's on Perkins Road has build your own burrito's. It's a family friendly, relaxed, inexpensive place for lunch. It's perfectly fine.
Five Guys Hamburgers in Towne Square.. Not necessarily a hole in the wall, but casual, inexpensive fun place to go.

The context clues made it clear OP mistakenly said hole in the wall when he meant non-chain.
Any hole in the wall I can think of it not a patio/ambiance type of place. He just fricked up his words.
