My grandmother is getting up there in age and recently slipped and hurt her neck. I wanted to send her some prepared meals but didn’t want to get involved in some kind of subscription. Can anyone recommend a service that allows you to just buy a set amount of meals to send to someone? Also, it would be nice if the food was actually edible and easy to prepare. I don’t want the type of thing where they send ingredients and she has to cook. I’m looking for more just put it in the oven or microwave and that’s it.

Edit: I live in a different state so I can’t bring by anything or make something and prep meals for her.

Do you have a Meijers near by? Their contracted delivery process is fantastic. Just buy her a weeks worth of healthy frozen dinners from there and have them delivered to her address.

If local around BR or NOLa, look up clean creations. Can order meals to be delivered a la carte without subscription. Meals are just microwaved. Its healthy stuff, but most I have tried have been good.

Thanks but she is in Beaumont, TX. None of these options seem to help.

If you're in Baton Rouge, you could go a place like Bergeron's and buy some of the frozen meals from there or freeze some of the fresh meals. If you cook, you could make some things as well and ship all of it to her. Would she have some help getting it inside and into her freezer?

Most meal delivery sites allow you to cancel at any time. I know I have canceled hello fresh with no problem

If you are in south Louisiana, contact the council on aging. They have the meals on wheels program. They bring meals for the week to older people - and it’s free.

We have had to deal with the Livingston Parish one, and they are really nice and helpful.

Little offa main topic but see if theres a "Caring Neighbors" organization in her area. These folks are outstanding and usually will deliver a week or so of homemade premade meals for ill or
injured seniors in their local area...

Just a thought...
