re: 2 weeks notice question - GeauxBlonde
you're entitled to accrued vacation time but not sick time
^this. And the key word is ACCRUED. If your policy says your vacation/PTO time is ACCRUED, then by law it has to be paid out. Sick time does not have to be paid out if it is listed as a separate benefit from Vacation/PTO. ...

re: Suggestions for a BR area oral surgeon for my 10 year old - GeauxBlonde
I also recommend Bulot. Went through 4 implants with him and great experience. I DO NOT recommend Vinci Baker (or Baker Vinci). Did 2 implants with a bone graft with him and it sucked. ...

re: When we want to channel the power of The Possum, what should we cheer? - GeauxBlonde
No cheer. Someone has to sacrifice a possum to the baseball gods by throwing one of the stuffed animal possums onto the field. The more thrown onto the field the greater the sacrifice and the happier the baseball gods. "And so let it be known, the more possums sacrificed to the gods, the happier...

re: New SUV: Toyota highlander or Volvo xc60 -- cant decide!!!! - GeauxBlonde
Literally choose between the same two vehicles 6 months ago. We went with the Highlander because we got way more options for our money and had the third row seating for when needed. If money were no object, though, we would have gotten the new xc90. That thing is glorious. ...

I've eaten at the one in Prairievill and Gonzales. The one is Prairieville is way better. I was kind of disappointed in the Gonzales one after having been to the Prairieville location and it being so good. Also, i went to the one in Prairieville in December and they were no longer doing the AYCE...

re: Calling HR folks - Leave Without Pay Calculation (Maternity/Teachers) - GeauxBlonde

re: Calling HR folks - Leave Without Pay Calculation (Maternity/Teachers) - GeauxBlonde
If you are a teacher, would your LWOP calculation be done based on the number of work days that a teacher works in the year (~180) or the number of days in the entire year?
I think it would depend on how the school does pay periods. Don't some schools only pay through the school ...

re: Resume (template) help...any engineering hiring managers here? - GeauxBlonde
In my HR opinion, You can keep it as long as the overall length of the resume does not exceed two pages. Once you have a few solid years of experience, education info should move to the bottom of the resume. And about that old job from 2000 or 2002, if it's relevant, then keep it. If it's waitin...

I've had people forget to add their newborns to their health insurance and have been able to add them and bac...
