I have to give it to them. I've eaten there twice and both times were very good. They are trying to do something different, and I applaud them for it. There are some things that I think they could do different like upscaling the buns and toasting them, and adding some other condiments, but seriously, a real nice break from the routine and interesting combinations for hot dogs, and they are brand new, so give them a shot and support them if you like what they are doing. I am.

They are located off Perkins by the overpass in Southdowns.

So far, I've had the following:

The Greek Dog.. Feta, black olives, and roasted red peppers.

The Drunkard... Bratwurst soaked in beer with squerkraut.

The Drunk as a Duck... Duck sausage with grilled onions and peppers.

and The Situation... Homemade mac and cheese, and thick cut bacon on top of a dog.

All were very well done, and I loved the Duck sausage, but the Situation is seriously good stuff. I cannot lie. Mac and Cheese, Bacon, and a good dog. Good Lord... What's not to like about that?

I've seen a few good reviews and a few dreadful reviews. I'll be up in BR in March and I plan to hit em up when I am there.

Sounds great. Do you know if they are open for the post bar crowd. Next time I am out under the pass this might be a crucial late night stop.

I've been once. Had the one with a fried egg and bacon on top, told them to hold the maple syrup.

It was good, not great.

All in all the place is a good addition to the BR food scene. There service is very quick and a much better alternative to fast food when you are in a hurry.

The wooden deck is a nice place to eat if the weather is nice.

I'll be back, but won't go out of my way to eat there.

What are the prices? How big are they?

Prices are kinda high I think. It's like 4.50 for a regualr dog, and no charge for the basic toppings. Extra toppings are .50. The specialty dogs range from like 5-8 bucks. I had the swamp dog (alligator sausage) which was pretty damn solid. The only sticking point I had was for that, a side of cajun fries (which were good) and a drink was like $13. No way a hot dog and fries should amount to $13.

I agree with the poster that said jazzing up the buns and such would be a good idea.

I tried to go after leaving the bar before midnight this pasted Saturday and they were closed, so I don't think those hours are correct.

They did have their Liqour ap in the window still so maybe they are waiting to stay open later until they can serve booze

They have interesting options. If I want a "regular dog" I'll still make tge drive to Chicago Al's....and I live 4 minutes from Frankie's.

I was really impressed with the food there. I got a chili cheese and frito dog then added siracha mustard. I thought it was damn good. I will definitely go back.

So, they're regular sized hotdogs? Would you consider that to be more or less filling than the typical hamburger you'd get from a place like Georges?

TigerMyth had this concern as well, but was immediately flamed by apparent fanboys. I'll still try the place out next week just because I need new places to eat lunch at.

Was tempted to take some tonight, but I was starving.

Got "The Situation" with Mac and Cheese topped with bacon, and the "Frank & Beans" homemade chili cheese dog, with a side of cajun fries.

Both were good, I don't know about $5.00 a dog good, though. My only real complaint is that there's no way your bun isn't going to split in half or tear, they're too small and not toasted. The seasoned battered cajun fries were really good, and made up for having to eat my dogs with a fork.

If you eat there at night, parking is a bitch. I ended up having to park a street over near the overpass.

Kudos to the owner for having that sexy Indian chick work the register

Yeah some people get their panties in a wad over any criticism. I only said about 1000 times I hope it works out and I hope it is worth it, but there really aren't tons of people willing to spend $13.00 on a dog, fries and coke unless it is damn good and filling.

I'll be trying it out a couple of times when I am in BR in March.

They'll stay in business just by virtue of being open late nights next to a popular bar.

And FWIW a dog, fries and a coke will set you back just shy of $10.

That certainly will help. Drunk people will pay anything for quick grease.

Is this right?

I got the dog with the fried egg and bacon, with a side of cajun fries, but I drank water. I thought it was like $9. Is a drink $4?
