it's fun to use, but I don't think I would go through the hassle of lighting it up for shrimp. I use the gas for that.
Though you really can't beat the taste on the BGE.
The best purchase I made besides the plate setter was the remote thermometer with two probes.
Its great. I made a really nice basket weave manchego and Fontina stuffed pork loin for xmas and I took step by step pictures, but just have been super lazy lately.

agree, for shrimp i usually fire-up the gas grill but got the BGE today and wanted to throw something on there.
