Hi all,

I am not that familiar with Lafayette. Can yall please help me pick a restaurant that is a good place for a date and also on the higher end? Need a romantic place to talk and also get some great food.

TIA!

Check out Pamplona. It's tapas style, which is perfect for dates since you can nibble and enjoy great conversation in the process. The place is cozy with an upscale atmosphere for Laffy. They've a good selection of glassed wine as well.

Was just about to suggest the same. The food isn't stellar by any stretch of the imagination, but the atmosphere is great for a date. Like you mention, cozy and a really nice selection of Spanish wines. They also make a pretty decent cocktail.

I'm probably missing one or two nice ones but this list should suffice:

French Press, Italian Market, Cafe Vermilionville, Couchon, Ruth's Chris, Pamplona, Jolie's

in that order more or less. Ruth's Chris may be higher up than couchon or cafe vermilionville since I've never made it to those two places.

I got some good friends over there and a bunch of family. Most of them are good people...most of them.

I agree with the prior posts......and personally, Charlie G's is your best option.

Pamplona is very good. Very good mixologists at the bar. Has a separate absinthe menu, if you are in to that. Food is good. Cozy atmosphere. Other downtown establishments are close by, if you want that option.

Bella Figura is also very good, but is a more quiet atmosphere.

Good luck and let us know how it goes wherever you go.

Is Mazen still opened? Any of those places will do. However, I would suggest skipping desert and driving to phares' and eating cheesecake at the bar. One will be plenty for both of you.
