I normally buy Ketel One, although I also like Tito's and will buy that if it's on sale. Anyway my local market had Grey Goose on sale for $19.99 so I decided to give it a try. I gotta say I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. My first impression is that it's good, but I actually prefer Ketel One and Tito's.

Jmho.

I get Tito's just to support "local" business. If you like that you may also like Dripping Springs, another TX vodka.

The fuss was around 2003 or so. You a little late. LOL

Google the story about it.
Pure marketing genius and good timing with a revival of martinis( pretend ones).

And someone will be along shortly to tell you all vodka is the same.

It's not ALL the same but I promise OP could not pick any of those vodkas out if I put them in front of him.

Lots of of people will claim they are ALL the same.
I tend to agree, that once you get to a certain quality point, they are all about the same. But you will know it if you are drinking a $12 bottle with just ice and maybe an onion or a few olives.

But it is handmade. 10,200,000 bottles a year.

I heard somewhere that most of their spirits come from Indiana or something like that. Is that true?

It is made from corn. But I think all the distilling and bottling is still south of Austin.

Is it expensive?

I honestly don't drink vodka often. I keep some in the freezer for guests. The only thing I usually drink at home is Bulleit Bourbon and beer.

Not even close.

A handle is $35 where I live. It is my go to Vodka.

Not at all. Compared to Taaka maybe. I think I pay $32 for a handle.

Ketel One > Tito's > Grey Goose

My preference is Breckinridge but it's a bit hard to come by on the east coast sometimes. Their bourbon is a lot more ubiquitous here, and it's dame good as well.

Yep...if you price it much higher, people will assume it must be much better.
