FBD: Right Brain Will Power Pale Ale
Posted on 7/21/14 at 5:11 pm to Matisyeezy
Good point. I mostly don't buy a six pack unless I can try a single first. Thanks for the advice. I'll probably pass on buying more than one of those at a time.

Doing work in the attic. Don't usually drink on Mondays but I may need a beer later.

Just curious, but if it was so bad, why did you put down a six pack?
Next SoPro IPA. Headed across the river shortly for dinner. Will continue the drinkage from there.

I just drank one as part of a mixed 6 pack.
I think this is the right approach when digging into craft beer. I would create the mix and match sixer like this:
2 beers you know you like (so you know you'll have at least two beers you like.
2 beers you haven't tried, but know you like the style (so you can try beers from different breweries, as we all have some we like better than others)
2 beers in a style that you haven't tried (Try different styles. We all have had our eyes opened to a style we didn't know we liked)
This won't last you long, since usually the mix and match choices are limited, but the object is to try different things and figure out what you like. The mix and match beers are usually more intro beers, anyway. You won't find any barrel aged stouts in the mix and match section, but you can find some decent regular stouts. Most of us probably were turned onto craft beer by beers that you find in the mix and match section. For me, it was Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Sam Adams Boston Lager.
Once you figure out what you like, you can start seeking out the more popular beers in that style. Their are a lot of beers out there, so have fun going out and trying them. And remember, it is always better to drink with friends, even if they are online...

Not everything Yeezy does can be explained. Meeting Yeezy when he's on an NBD roll is on my bucket list...

I see what you're doing there, holding that thermometer up near the ceiling. It's probably only 129 where you are.

You don't want that. Nobody wants that. I don't think any FBDer has seen that.
I'd like to think I'm a modern day Jagger
Click and notice the shirt and the dance moves. I rest my case.

Supposedly this was their attempt to provide an answer to the Enjoy By series. It doesn't make it there. That doesn't mean it's bad. It has a mild aroma, more bittering than fruit, but it's really mild. The flavor has a mild, bready hop presence. I want more, whether it's fruit or resin, something to kick it up to the next level. I guess this is just kinda meh. Oh well.

FBD Drakes Aroma Coma. Holy wow! This is pretty much my perfect beer. Huge aroma, big hop flavor, low bitterness, easy drinker.
