Mine dumps the chain half the time so I guess you may have something there. What kind of cassette do you run with only 1 chain ring? 12-42 or something crazy like that?

I'm running 11x32. I probably need to go to 11x30 for these mountains. Long unrelenting climbs hurt, I mean really hurt. During every long climb all I think about is how I'm gonna change to a 30 when I get home. Then I get home and just think I need to get stronger. I'm always gonna want an easier gear on brutal climbs though. I'm running SRAM XO1 currently and love it. Shimano is supposed to put one out soon.

I lived and rode MBs in southern Cali so I know what you mean. But I was pretty good at grinding out a climb. I get my arse kicked on the flats like we have in Dallas.

I had to head back to Lakeview for the night because my dog was in his kennel all afternoon

Shoot me an email at big.moe832713@aol.com

Also, I recommend checking out the Signature Lounge for cocktails tomorrow night if y'all are doing tourist stuff. It's a little overpriced but has an unparalleled view of the city.

1-4 BD were Stone Go To IPAs, love this beer
5 BD Matt's Burning Rosids, pretty good beer that's got a lot of flavor, not my favorite but very drinkable for an almost 11% beer

6 BD was a Liquid Bliss, based on recommendations from FBD threads , gotta say, it was better than I expected.

7 BD was a Mocha Porter, decent beer, nothing fantastic, kind of muted flavors and not much mocha coming through

8 BD was a Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, I don't like stouts at all but this one is pretty good, may have something to do with the wife and kids being asleep and me just chilling, all alone
