is that a beer or a car race??

SBD!

eh / second time having this one. was hoping for a better experience second time around but it's just not all that great. definitely my least favorite from them thus far. for a saison it just has too much of that sweet maltiness and not enough grassy backbone to it. get this lingering caramel flavor that is screaming for something crisp to make it die down.

10 laps in you can only imagine my level of piss-offed-ness at Pirelli. Might have mentioned it in a FBD thread.

Btw, webber to Porsche makes some sense. Lots of talk that red bull wasn't going to renew his f1 contract.

ETA: tiresome... it hurts to laugh at that

Yes. Also, someone needs to get on this. 4 bottles per variant means there should be plenty of trading going on a week from Friday...However, people are offering everything other than their first born for this one. /r/beertrade is going crazy.

quote:

3 (yes three) bottled versions of Barrel-Aged Mexican Cake will be released at the brewery on Friday, July 12th @ 3pm. This is the original batch of Mexican Cake that was brewed in December 2011 and it has been waiting patiently in barrels since then! The three versions are:

Apple Brandy Barrel-aged Mexican Cake,

Jack Daniels Whiskey barrel-aged Mexican Cake, and

Cabernet barrel-aged Mexican Cake.

These beers will not be distributed to retailers, and none of them were kegged.

Details:

Limit of 4 bottles of each version per person, for a total of 12 bottles per person. Remember, SC law limits our off-premise sales to 288oz total per person.

Each 22oz bottle will be $20 + sales tax. Cash, Visa, and Mastercard are accepted.

Current beer I am on, New Holland Dragons Milk, well worth it if you like barrel aged stouts.

For me, sometimes the barrel, be it bourbon, whiskey, scotch, tends to overpower the stout flavor. I love bourbon, whiskey, scotch, but when I want a beer that has been barrel aged I want to taste the beer, especially a good stout.

This beer is an awesome balance that lets the stout shine through without the bourbon taking it over.

Like I said, I think it is worth seeking out if you like barrel aged stouts.

Good to hear. Got one a few weeks ago, and put it in my cellar.
