I'm still kicking myself for not showing up to the lottery at Calandro's. I could have had one of those.

How is it?

Also, my brother-in-law is coming in town today. I gave him a list of stuff to pick up from Houston.

A bunch of firestone walker's, Founder's breakfast stout, a few Karbach, and another goose island bourbon county stout. Not sure if what he managed to get.

I'll ask here rather than start a thread:
Has it always been more expensive to drink at Chimes? I'm looking at beer menu and ICS/Abita Machiatto/Big Eddy are all 0.50-2.00more at the Chimes when compared to the Londoner. Not a huge deal just kinda surprised me when I thought they would offer the same product the same price, other things they both offer are more expensive at The Chimes as well

Chimes went up on all beer a few months back unfortunately.

It drinks a lot like a port wine IMHO. Very potent and boozy..

Never noticed until today, explains how I could have a burger + 5 beers yesterday and my bill only 40 bucks

I've found that Chimes (original) is usually cheaper than Bulldog or Pelican House.

They do 20 ounce pours, so if Londoner does 16 ounce pours then it should be a little more expensive.

I had some Sink The Bismarck at B's house one day. That thing was strong. Frank like a cognac. Was curious how utopia went down

My favorite thing about beer at the Chimes, is that they let you do small (12 oz?) pours for anything on tap. You may pay a little more per ounce, but I'm fine with that.

Anyone ever had beer from Brown's Brewing Co., in New York? I have a buddy up there that is bringing back some growlers.

Yep, you can get 10 ounce glasses instead of the 20 ounce imperial pints, even though they aren't listed on the menu. It runs roughly half of what an imperial pint costs.
