When I want to go to a good dinner in Jefferson Parish, Impastato's and Austin's are the places that first come to mind. And Andrea's, although sometimes I get the feeling I am one of the few people on this board who like it that much.

I don’t get the love for Akira! Went once with my girlfriend who is Vietnamese and received possibly the worst service in my 26 years of living.

How would you compare its quality to sushi masa in Baton Rouge? Has anyone on here eaten at both to compare?

Re: Akira Sushi

And it's NOT a buffet. You order from the waiter and they bring it to you.

Pho Bang, in the same strip mall as the aforementioned Casa Garcia & Fuji sushi (never been to either one of those)

Any Pho Bang is going to be good. Pho Sunrise down Vets near Williams is also really solid, though. And you don't have to deal with the parking lot issues of that other many restaurant strip mall.

Am I the only person under 75 who goes to the Martin Wine Cellar deli?

I do. Just secondary to my bourbon hunts. Not sure if they still do but they use to get some of their meats from Cochon Butcher.

Yes, call about the food tour of Harahan

It’ll take you to Yaya’s, down to Seither’s, cross over to Jefferson Hwy to Kim Ahn, walk over to Oak Oven, swing by Smoked by Steve, drop over and see Lenny at Happy Italian, and finish up at Charlie’s seafood. For dessert drop into La Petite Sophie right over the Harahan river ridge border

Liberty Cheesesteaks just opened up right next door to Kim Ahn’s too. Don’t know of any other cheesesteak place in JP.

Just noticed this while making a trip over to Sav-n-Time two weeks ago. When did this happen?

I get the old persons place however, that does not mean the food is mediocre. Fury’s run by the same family that owned the Bounty at Westend for a long time. Was a well known place back in the day and those folks still support the food that they remember.

It’s a great place. Food quality is great.
