I asked too and he ghosted the thread. I don't know any good pizza and I live in the same area.

I know some pretty good pizza, but it's also like $25 for a pie. Not worth it at all

Scalinis
Thunderbird (detroit)
Louies (chicago tavern style and great dive bar atmosphere. Always sit on the bar side not in the annex)
Campisis (I burned out on them 10 years ago and stopped eating there. But we ordered some during the pandemic and it was damn good)
Bryan Street Tavern-(greasy but good)
Testa (neopolitan-I like them much better than Cane Rosso)
Zalat- honorable mention-I don't love them but everyone else I know does)

I was in New Haven this summer and I prefer all of the above places to that overhyped New Haven crap.

Ok so nothing too different from where I go

Louie's is far and away my favorite pizza in Dallas.

Thunderbird to me would be great if they would just put more sauce on the pizza. When I go again I will demand extra

Don't get me Neopolitan ever. I think it's all just ok

I think a good not so known spot for pizza is Chelsea's Corner.

I think a lot of the places you mentioned are better than the chains but also 2X the price so if I need to hit a craving and not doing a date or something with friends I'll do a chain

Oh and the all you can eat spot down in midtown is awesome but not traditional pizza. Delucca Gaucho

I think Piggie Pies is my favorite greasy local place

Ive asked for extra on the side before but the last couple of times they have put enough on the pizza so i didn't need the extra.

I'm generally the same but I do like testa. I will choose one of the others I mentioned over testa but if someone in our group wants neopolitan then testa is a good one.

Not downtown Dallas, but we hit Hurtado in Arlington for lunch today. Cool spot.

I have no quarrel with Terry Black's.
Oni was after a show across the street at Trees.

We hit The Charles Thursday night and it was excellent. Think we ordered half the menu. Will do again
