I have always, and will always, throw them in the trash.

I don't mind them, but won't go out of my way to eat them.

The heels are the best part. They make the most badass PB&J out there. Or scrambled egg sandwiches.

If you turn them inside out on a sandwich, the kids will never know the difference.

Oh my gosh, NO!!!!
They don't taste anything like the real bread! Those ends are made by grinding up all the "leftover" parts of the real bread. Just the thought grosses me out, they're yucky..

They are perfect for a cold spaghetti half sandwich.

My grandfather always cut them off and ate them first. He'd warm them for a minute and then shmear on some butter.

So you dig through the loaf to eat the two "heels" together, or you just mix and match it?

Saves the twist ties from older bread sacks, cuts and opens both ends, uses extry twist tie to close other heel end.. Duhhh...

Then there is a race to the middle to get the heart piece.

I'm not a child so of course I eat the ends and the crust. Ends are the best pieces

I guess we've been talking about French bread. Didn't think of heels on any other kind of loaf.

Yeah, he'd take it out of the bag, break both ends off and pop them in the oven for a minute or so. Add butter. That's the best part of a loaf.

Love them. They are the best pieces to make a sammich with, especially a patty melt.
