It's on McClelland a block off Evangeline. Saw it mentioned in the hole in the wall thread and haven't had it in fifteen years.

Well I had a cheeseburger today and it is as good as I remember and as good as any if not all in Baton Rouge. When I turned the corner at 11:30 and there was a line it all came back to me standing in that line with my father circa 1969 waiting for a burger and drinking a great chocolate milkshake.

Didn't have the milkshake today, the burger was enough calories but it's great. Sat on the picnic table with three lovely large black ladies and had a hen party while we ate. It takes some time, about twenty minutes from the time I ordered to getting it but it is worth it. A lot of the crowd had called in which the regulars in line told me to do next time and I will but since the sun is out I didn't mind waiting.

Go enjoy this little counter.

But if you are one of those skeerdy cats that won't go to Tonys by all means please disregard this post. You would probably crap your pants at this joint.

Martini,

I actually grabbed a burger from Dixie Maid today too. Heard someone mention it the other day and decided to give it a try. Damn good burger, reminded me of Burger Delight a few years ago. I will be back.....and you're right about the call ins.

Did you happen to slip and fall on all the grease on the concrete? Last time I went there, it was as if a grease trap didn't matter.

Sounds good, rarely go to Lafayette. Why would anyone have an problem with going to Tony's? The travel time is an issue, but as far as safety, it has enough cops around to handle a riot.

Because the white half of Baton Rouge is afraid of the other half. Some of these pussies won't even visit an arguable historic landmark (that also happens to have great seafood) for fear of venturing outside of their comfort zone.

Used to be in my regular rotation until a couple of coworkers were asked to share their wealth with some of the locals by some of the locals. Haven't been since then. And I'm rolling through Tony's on the regular-DM is a different animal.

I remember it well as I grew up just off St. Gerard on Hammond st. That was the days when I used to ride the hell out of my bike all over. Used to eat there all the time. Surprised its still operating.

Brookstown burger FTW!

Cheap plumbing and window screen prices at the hardware store..might as well get the burger across the street.

If already in NoBR, make a Tonys & Krispy run too.

Nothing is cooked in the front where you order so there is no reason for grease to be where you would slip and fall. Apparently you have never been to this particular location.

Why are you such an a-hole? I've been there. The concrete outside was covered in grease.

It's safe to assume you're a troll. The hamburger joint you're knighting for is a dirty, greasy dump.

Did your mother press on your soft spot when you were a kid? I mean it's obvious you aren't on loan from NASA. I just made a little review of a hole in the wall and you want to make comments about grease which makes me, and anyone else that has ever been there, know that unless Roosevelt changed his oil in the 74 Impala in the parking lot, you haven't a clue what you are talking about. It's an old building on the corner with the kitchen in the back no where near the front where you order. It is the same as it was 40 years ago when I first went there. You must have been Icansee4miles co worker who was gang raped thus your difficulty with the place.

Hope you enjoyed your overpriced crawfish. If I were to venture a guess I'd say they were probably as big as your penis.

No offense but I honestly don't think you should be surprised that people don't want to travel to one of the shittiest parts of the city for a hamburger.
