Dirty Rice Recipes

Id like to make some tonight, curious they way you guys make it. Chicken livers Y/N?

If you don't put chicken livers in it you're not making dirty rice.

nothing wrong with this. I use it sometimes too. but, I dice an onion and add some slap ya mamma to it. comes out great everytime.

I find Richard's to be much better than Savoie's, but you still have to doctor it up some. I add a lot of green bell pepper and some onion.

Try Poche's..its even better..while I always rag Poche's about their boudin and cracklins, their dirty rice premix is spot on

2lbs hot pork sausage, 1 tub chicken livers, onion, bell pepper, celery, green onion, rice. Seasonings to taste.
I run the livers through a food processor to almost a puree. Brown the veggies in oil, then cook the sausage with the veggies. Pour the livers over the top and mix well, stirring until the liver is cooked and coating everything.
Add cooked rice and meat mixture a little at the time in a large bowl so everything mixes well. Keep adding and mixing until done.

We like Harold's better than Richard's or Savoie's. But I mix it with ground beef.
