I was just made aware of the fact that this has started in Baton Rouge. For anyone who is familiar, I would appreciate your overall feelings concerning your membership thus far.

I went to the one in BR a couple of weeks ago. The setup was great, this one was downtown, in an old warehouse that has an antique store now. There was a bar setup, there was a specially tequila drink, 2 types of red and white wines and 3 or 4 craft beers. Alcohol was flowing, they kept our drinks topped off during the meal. The food was something I would have never ordered but was pleased with the dinner and left full and happy. Everyone we talked with enjoyed the meal and the experience also.

Here was the menu:

1 - Green Mango & Lychee Salad : fried peanuts | cliantro crema
2 - Red Chili Mussels : Chinese sausage | green onion
3 - Tamarind Stew : fish cake | rice noodles | prawn paste
4 - Goat Rendang : coconut rice | pickled pineapple | kaffir lime
5 - Coconut Panna Cotta : rice cake | ginger granita | cashew crumble

$60 pp, tip included. You pay by credit card before hand. No money changed hands at the event...

I've been to a few and overall really like them. Generally get food that you don't or wouldn't see elsewhere and drinks that are different from what you would regularly order. Service is good and the bill is all inclusive. If you like "different" you will like dinner lab.

@Fish Too late anyway. I'm sure tix are sold out

Nitpicking here, but the second course is a bit, well, misnamed.
From The Harvest : Grilled pears | butter lettuce | crispy herbed goat cheese | sliced almonds | charred lemon vinaigrette

Whose harvest and when? Pears are late summer/fall/early winter fruits (and mostly not grown in LA). Ditto for lemons--it's long past local lemon season. So maybe it should be called "out of season" salad?

Why does Baton Rouge's Dinner Lab only have extreme ethnic food? I feel like I have wasted my money joining...

You sound like my mother. I just bought tickets to the one they announced today.

I don't think it sounds "weird" at all.. unless you never eat Middle Eastern food or something..

My mom acted all weird when I invited her to come with her too. There are much stranger foods out there than this.

If anything, this menu is slightly weak.. not at all "extreme" IMO

I just pulled the trigger for the Turkish food also, my thoughts is to go and let them lay out food and give it a try...

I would prefer it to rotate with non-middle-eastern food. Also cannot convince anyone to go with me due to the menu.

Maybe I'll ask for refund and just get a New Orleans membership. I don't mind driving for great food.

Yeah, Mediterranean type foods are actually my least favorite, but I'm trying to get more into them. I know people love Shaya.

I think this will obviously be executed way better than any other food in the style that I've had before.

Plus, I just want to go to one of the events to see what it is like.

You don't know anyone who likes to go eat at like Arzi's type of places? It isn't usually my thing, but even my pickiest friends love that shite.
