Nowhere in BR is safe after 4 on a Friday . I like to have my arse planted in a bar stool by 4:30 at the latest when heading out to the Box for a 7:00 game.

So about 20-25 minutes. Chimes could also be crowded. I would say its almost a more play it by ear with traffic and everything else unless they don't mind being late.

Fin, thanks for the offer but I will be in tx

Not sure I'll be able to get to BR before 5, leaving here at 10 and I know its a solid 7 hour drive. Will consider taking the Gross Tete exit.

Thanks for all the replies.

What time does it usually start backing up?

I've come to wonder when it's not backed up. I started taking the old bridge exclusively now. Takes longer, but at least I'm moving. Last time I came in from I-10 about 2, I sat for an hour. One little wreck or whatever, holds it up. I get off at Lobdell and head for the other bridge. The problem is that sometimes it's already backed up that far, so the other suggestions are good ones.

I went through the ditch between the interstate and the service road the last time, so I didn't have to wait in traffic to get to Lobdell.

I do this nifty move before I hit Beaumont traffic often

It worked beautifully and I wasn't alone in doing it. There were a lot of vehicles doing it at the time and plenty of nice paths to follow. Sometimes, I go to the split via the interstate. Sometimes, I just go up to N Foster and drive until I hit College. Lots of lights, but it moves well and doesn't take long. Sometimes, I get off the interstate downtown and then go from there to wherever I'm going. There are options coming in that way.

Go to Chimes. Walkon's is closest to the park but not the best food.
