Since this board is turning into the crawfish board...

Passed by galvez hardware on 42 a little while ago and saw a sign for this happening this Saturday the 26th. Couldn't find anything on their Facebook or website. Anyone know the details? I might give them a ring tomorrow to find out if nobody here knows.

Called today and found out the details.

It's being put on by a local TV show, cajun livin n cookin.

This Saturday from 9-1ish at Galvez Hardware. They're going to have a dj, a firetruck, gumbo, and boiled crawfish for sale. 2.50/lb, 2.00/lb when you buy 10 or more pounds.

Crawfish eating contest - The guy said it will be bracket style and you'll have to go heads up against other people. You get 15 crawfish each and I guess whoever eats it fastest wins. $20 entry fee with a cash prize going to the winner.

Boiling contest - $80 entry fee with crawfish included. I think the crawfish has to be turned in at 11:30 and is judged on peel, taste, and texture. Cash prize to the winner. The guy said there's only one spot left for the boiling contest. Gotta check with the wife to see what we're doing Saturday.

Seems like a pretty fun time. Even if I can't boil, I might go hang out for a little while.
