I have been a bud light drinking coonass from way back that switched to yuengling( love it ). A buddy at work brought me a mixed 6pack of craft beers. I was wondering what yalls favorites are. Best buzz, best taste, etc. Ive drank two so far and they give a good buzz weird taste. One was a celebration the other torpedo. Id have look and see what the other four are. But im kinda liking these kinda cold ones.

I'd bet going from a 4.5% beer to a 7.5% beer might give you more of a buzz.

I always recommend Anchor Steam to newbies, but you seem way past that by jumping in with some higher IBU bets already.

That Sierra Nevada mix pack is a solid intro.

First step is figuring out what kind of beer you like.

It sounds like you are on the right track. Try many different beers from the different styles (stouts, porters, DIPAs, IPAs, PAs, etc.) and you will figure out what you like. Also, don't sleep on the Belgian style stuff, like La Fin du Monde and Maudite from Unibroue.

Whatever you do...

never ever ever ever drink an Abita Jockamo

Sounds like you have a good first 6 to start with. Like Kim said, just figure out what styles you like, then try more of that style.

Sign up for untapped immediately and practice taking pics of your beers. That's half the craft beer drinking process right there.

If you have a bar with a lot on tap I would go over and hang out, talk to the bartender and try different beer.

The beers mentioned above not to try is strong advice.

Grab some Parish Envie.

A rule you should live by when drinking IPAs and Pale Ales. Always check the bottle dates. Drink fresh.

It is labeled as an IPA. Horrible example of an IPA, tastes like olives.

It ruined a lot of my friends on IPAs, that was the first one they tried.
