Where would be a good place to have drinks on a rainy day in BR? Covered outdoor seating for smokers.
Thanks

If I recall, The Bulldog (Perkins) has a covered patio. It depends on what kind of crowd/drinks/area you are looking for. Ivar's (Perkins) seating in the back is covered, Chime's (campus) rooftop bar is covered (probably cant smoke), Olive Or Twist (Perkins/Staring) is covered, etc.

Patio Lounge or The Pour House both have covered patios. You'll fit right in.

Thanks all.
I don't smoke but my guest does. Thanks for the tips and judgement.

Hey! Don't leave us hanging over at The Jefferson.

Also, none of those places serve food.

Not in BR, but Fred's in Port Vincent has covered patio, smoking, and food you can order. It's always fun to watch the boats go by and attempt to load them on the trailers.

is a lanai. Patios, by definition don’t have covers.

Sure about that? The Golden Girls were always chilling on their lania, and it didn't have a cover.

Of course not.

I'm right here.
Let me run in and ask.

A Patio:

Adjoins a home
Tends to be a mid to large-size space
Is not enclosed and does not have a built-in roof…
…but may be covered with awnings, shade sails, pergolas, umbrellas, or other less permanent structures
Is used as primarily an outdoor living, dining, and entertaining space

A Porch:

Is an extension of the home, usually the front
Tends to be a smaller size
Has some built-in roof or cover that is permanent or semi-permanent
Is typically open on the sides and front, perhaps with a railing, though it can be contained with screen panels to keep out bugs
Is used to welcome guests or relax in relative solitude

A Lanai:

Is an extension of the home
Tends to be mid-size
Is fully covered and contained, like a sunroom, but with more airflow
Can be used to entertain guests or relax at home
Is a regional term, most commonly used in (and originating from) Hawaii

A Veranda:

Is an extension of the home with a roof and railings
Is basically a large porch or a mid-size balcony, but it is strictly a ground-level structure
It tends to wrap around sides of houses
Traditionally is used as a receiving area, commonly with art or gallery items of some kind
Is a regional term, most commonly used in the American South
Hopefully, that clears some of this up.

This is probably why most people call them whatever they want.

I think you're insinuating that Blanche Devereaux doesn't know what a lanai is. Smh

I'm not telling you, because I don't want some jackhole next to me blowing cigarette smoke while I try to enjoy a couple beers.
