We're all VERY upset. Just cremate those kegs.

Join us as we celebrate the life of the wildly popular, local beer that was Abita Jockamo IPA. We'll be sending out Jockamo "in style", as only us New Orleanians know how- with a proper Jazz Funeral!!!

We've been given the last remaining few kegs of Jockimo in existence for the event. So come one, come all and enjoy this local IPA in all it's glory. And once it's all gone, we'll welcome it's successor, the brand new Abita Big Easy IPA with open arms.

The Young PinStripe Brass Band will be on hand leading the way and performing all the classics. And the folks from Abita will be here handing out free swag and other goodies. Clear your schedules and come party with us over at Cooter Brown's. It's one not to be missed!

I hope those kegs are ANCIENT. I hope it's even more terrible than we all remember. It was the IPA equivalent to a fourth trimester abortion.

Uhm no. Abita is very widely distributed in California so Jockamo would sit on the shelf alongside Stone, Port. Ballast Point, Firestone Walker, etc. Kind of ridiculous.

I'm hoping this was meant to be ironic

Big easy IPA is going to take down Envie as the most critically acclaimed Louisiana IPA. You heard it here first

Agreed. That would have been hysterical.

Great name...terrible terrible beer.

The Big Easy IPA is better, but that isn't a high bar.

well according to the event page, Abita people will be there so this must be for real

from a business POV, i can see why the owners are doing it. They're trying to make Cooter's more popular with the younger crowd and these release parties always attract a decent crowd.

It was horrible. I can only guess how many people "don't like IPAs" after trying Jockamo as their first.

yeah this is what happened to me like 10 years or so ago. I had one and thought it was terrible and assumed all IPAs were similar so I stayed away.

No.

You'd be the only one if you said you actually liked it.

Lol my first thought when I tried a wrought iron was "they should erase any and all evidence of jockamo and just sell this". Jockamo is seriously the worst and first IPA I've ever had. Almost turned me off of ipas. Thankfully sweetwater was the second IPA I ever had.

Jockamo was drinkable. Was it a great or even good IPA? No. But it was fine as a last resort sorta beer.
