I must admit I've always been turned off by Chipotle's holier-than-thou marketing approach. And the commercial, " The Scarecrow" a few years back is such BS. "Cultivate a better world"? Yeah, and like drinking a Coke will bring world peace. Remember this? I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. It's all the same feel good BS.

I'm all in favor of people eating what and where they want, but Chipotle is a fast food, pretentious, BS artist, floating above us all, hypocrite company.

This is the website that is spittin' a little truth and caused my panties to bunch. https://www.chubbychipotle.com/

I just came across this article tonight:

Officials believe that an outbreak of norovirus is responsible for sickening dozens of patrons at a Ventura County Chipotle restaurant earlier this month. Full Article Link

The article didn't say, but norovirus is transmitted by fecally (shite) contaminated food or water, by person-to-person contact. Just sayin'.

Ehh... It's still pretty damn good, if you're stuck in a place without a decent burrito joint. But it's cheap, fast, and isn't processed like other restaurants in the same category. But don't expect to lose weight eating carnitas. Though you can eat healthy there, and it beats a wilted iceberg lettuce salad from McDonald's.

Personally, I just think it's fricked up that they came from Colorado, but didn't introduce the world to the gloriousness that is the Hatch green chili sauce. Chipotle is basically a San Francisco style, Mission burrito joint, but they didn't/haven't paid homage to the local style of Mexican food.

Other than that, it still bests the other quick chains

They're actually great marketers and sort of pioneered Fast casual.

Also exhibit A in how people get fooled into thinking "natural" is always "good for you."

I'm not one to really give a shite about the "GMO-Free, Sustainable" marketing terms. But what really turned me off of Chipotle was the way it marketed itself as healthy. Maybe they didn't actually say this; maybe it was just patrons saying it.

But I ate at Chipotle a few times and was excited to think that it was something higher quality, fresher, and healthier than other fast food joints I could go to.

Then I looked up the calorie info. A burrito without cheese and sour cream was still somehow 600+ calories. That's not including chips. I typically enjoy adding guacamole, which adds about 250 more calories.

I can get a similar burrito at Moe's with more vegetable topping options and with guacamole, keep it at 450 calories.

And finally, when I learned that their kids menu options were 400+ calories, I was done.

Got nothing against Chipotle, but I was in a discussion the other day about all the fat fricks that are in your average Chipotle. I think similar to "fat free" and "diet" options (which you always see that fat fricks with carts of the crap piled high at the store), it's deceptive.

They think it's "healthy" becauseof the marketing. Meanwhile, they're showing down their sub-BMR weight loss goal in calories at one sitting.

The tortilla itself is 300 calories. If you get rice that a couple hundred more. It CAN be healthy. Burrito in a bowl or whatever. I've never eaten Chipoltle.

Just because something is high calorie doesn't mean it's not healthy. It just means it's high calorie. I'm not saying Chipotle is necessarily healthy, but it can be alright given other available options.

That's not true, I have never really thought about them and where we rank in morals.

frick GMOs and antibiotic meat. Just because the FDA says it's acceptable doesn't mean it's healthy. Big Agra owns the FDA so obviously they are going to say these practices are safe. And if you're downing a 60oz coke you think you really give a shite about the GMO high fructose corn syrup? What a Butch of horse shite.

I get a bowl with double chicken. That plus chips is two full meals for me. Great deal for $10. But I give the edge to Izzo's for its cilantro-free tomato option. Price is about the same.

When i read my post i can see that. I chuckled at that because I'm so opposite of the tree hugging hippie. I just hate what the government allows to be out in our food.

Dude a bowl is two meals for you?

Grow a pair

I'm 150 lbs and get a bowl with double rice, double meat, guac and all fixins AND two hard tacos with chips.

The bowls are tiny! They barely give you a scoop of rice and meat.
