That's, um, interesting.

People on here care to much about what other people eat. Whether it be something like this, fast food restaurants, chain restaurants, how one eats a piece of meat, what type of condiments one uses, etc.. Eat whatever you like and taste good.

I actually think this has gone better than most similar threads. Some people called rice with chili weird but I don't think it's been disrespectful or petty.

growing up I didn't know of another way, little mustard and saltine crackers, paired nicely with some red Kool-Aid.

During the summers me and my bro would have to fend for ourselves (both parents worked), so if it didn't require cooking the better for us.

what kinda onion?

Rice, chili, frito on top for me. Growing up we had it with rice at school, not at home though. Dad's chili was with Fritos, sour cream and shredded cheese.

I don't always have rice w my chili now, but usually. I just always have rice around.

Never tried chili over cornbread but I will be trying that next time

Never heard of chili over rice. If Fritos are involved, I am eating it Frito pie style. I grew up eating chili with saltines. Now I eat it with tortilla chips or just plain. I did have chili mac once for lunch at school in first grade but I ended up throwing up in a trash can an hour later and I haven't eaten it since. So I really can't get into the chili and pasta thing.

I don't eat it with either, but if I had to pick, it would be fritos. The first time I heard of chili with rice was on this board. Might have been Otis.

I put chopped onions, cheese and sour cream on my bowl of chili, sometimes chopped jalapenos, though they're usually in the chili. If I'm going to have a chip with it, it would usually be tortilla, though fritos are okay. I had the chili in a bag over fritos as a child a few times.

I grew up eating chili over rice. figured it was a S.Louisiana thing. I'm more partial to chili over cornbread now or just plain chili.

It may be a S LA thing because of the rice. I never had it when I grew up in Lafayette, but at the time, I didn't eat chili at all except maybe if it was served at school or in the bag at some school thing. My Mom didn't fix it at home for us because none of the kids at it then.

This sounds great. Might make it this weekend. You have a link or recommended recipe?

This right here.

so, you're agreeing that Fritos on top are not cool, but putting some Fritos that have been broken on top, is cool?

eta: ohh, rice in there makes it ok. cool.
