Coushatta! that's up around my people

My grandmother grew up in Coushatta. Her maiden name was Lockett. Her dad Keete Lockett, my great grand dad, was sheriff of Red River Parish at some point. Man that woman could cook.

We had very few leftovers, ever, but I do remember reheating dumplins in a boiling pot and adding a little broth, milk or water..

I had a bowl of similarly prepared chicken and dumplings one COLD December evening after hunting hard all day in the wind, snow, and ice. To this day, I consider it one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life.

Outstanding job.

I am not old.

I am ancient.

I am the earth.

I predate antiquity.

I am that guy BBQing the wooly mammoth on the cave wall.

For lazy cooks or college students let me introduce you to the best cheat recipe that comes closest without all the work:

Same amount of water (or canned broth) but boil boneless breasts and thighs instead of hen and cut amount of chicken down to about 2.5-3 pounds. You can add the bouillon/consomme cube as well. When chicken is done add can of cream of chicken and can of cream of mushroom. Bring back to a boil and add canned biscuits cut into pieces the same way but you may have to cook them a little longer than his recipe. Add the cubed/cut up chicken back in and season the same way. I can even make this method after work it is so quick.

Good Madam,

I could have posted that and the fight would have been 743 posts long, with 342.5 s in the first six pages alone.

Some posters would still be talking about it six months later.
