This is where you blew it. By this, Olive Garden is the place!

I crushed the buffet at Oriental Pearl today for $7.99...wasn't hungry again til 8:30 pm

So that gets my vote.

Actually I didn't blow it. Find where I compared either place with the Olive Gardens and Outbacks of the world.

If anything, Jay's has been getting too expensive for what you get.

Several places used to offer great lunch specials like the Chimes and Chelsea's. I liked the food at the Overpass Merchant but the portions left me hungry. I still like Zeeland Street Market although they have increased their prices. You can still do lunch for about $12 there.

There are certainly several cheap places in BR

But I cannot attest to one single "good" restaurant in that entire city

Can't believe no one has mentioned Anthony's Italian Deli on government.

Some of the best authentic Italian in BR. The dad greets you at the door, mom does most of the cooking, and son runs day to day operations. I'd eat there daily if my waistband would allow it.

Thai pepper
Al Noor
Dorothys
Duang Tawan
Chicken Shack

As for the Pinetta's debate -- it's not the best Italian in town, but they DO have the best red sauce in town.
