Central City BBQ - Review

Ate here today for the second time. My thoughts:
The sliced brisket - dry, rubbery, and overcooked. I thought this was supposed to be their specialty.
The ribs and pulled pork - They tasted okay. A bit undercooked and no smoke flavor.
The BBQ sauce - Not really a fan. It was too sweet.
The burnt ends - The only thing that I would go back for. They were good but most burnt ends are.
The macaroni and cheese - I think they made this with kraft cheese and bacon bits. Very meh.
Cole slaw - way too much vinegar.
Baked Beans - tasted very similar to Busch's or other canned baked beans. Nothing to write home about.
Corn pudding - probably the best side on their menu
Overall I give this place a C-. I don't really get the hype.

oh yea, well it has definitely gone to shite since Rob left. Wish I would've known that before I wasted $20 on some shitty brisket today.

I'm done with BBQ in NOLA. They like that electric gas type BBQ here. I'm the idiot that does it the most expensive inefficient way possible #StickBurnner I like to sell out and put out a perfect product without reheating the meat. That don't make tons of $$$ in BBQ I have found. ChefRob108 on Instagram is the best way to find me. Ill be doing a few non BBQ popups real soon! Look for STIX - a kushiyaki/yakitori popup sorta like mini BBQ if you will. I just got my grill I have to do try outs, of course, to get things right! TD tasting night? I know yall would be brutally honest if anything!

I am done with CCBBQ. I had the brisket today for the first time since you left. It was awful.. Could barely chew through it and the fat cap had been rendered to non-existence yet there was no bark. It made me very sad. It is probably a good thing though since I was going in for brisket usually once a week while you were there. That wasn't healthy.
The spoonbread was the only thing I enjoyed on the plate.
