I walked in at 11:35 and was seated and ordered by 11:40. I walked out at 12:12 without receiving my food. Am I wrong for walking out? I don't think it should take over 30 minutes to make a chicken schwarma salad at lunch time.

Who goes to lunch at 11:30 in the morning? Do you work odd shift hours or something? ETA: Did you ask what was going on/complain to someone?

I didn't ask what was going on because no one came back to my table after bringing my drink.

Is that a real question? A whole lot of people eat lunch around 11:30. Hell a mere 30 minutes later is the grandaddy of all lunch times. You act like the dude was lunching at dawn

What?

That's when our restaurant goes on a wait. Plenty of people eat at 11:30. When you get to work at 7-8am, you're pretty damn hungry by 11:30.

As far as the OP: I don't think it's wrong to expect your food sooner than that, but I would have said something before walking out. You never know what is going on with someone/somewhere.

Like I said, you NEVER know what is going on if you don't ask someone. And now you'll never know since you walked out.

Someone told me just the other day about them dining out, their food taking a long time.. and right as they got up to inquire, the waitress burst out of the kitchen and out the front door crying.

Sorry. I'm on NY corporate attorney time. 1p.m. seems to be the big lunch time here. I'm afraid I'd get laughed at if I suggested an 11:30a.m. lunch meeting. Dinner here tends to be an 8p.m. or later event too.

Seems as if I have offended the 11:30 lunchers. My apologies.

I bet it was water with lemon.

Bonus points if sugar was also requested.

I still prefer Cafe Phoenecia to most other places in BR.

Never had a problem there. There really isn't anything else in that town. Sammy's is mediocre.
