Anyone do this? Been looking at a few sites like US Wellness beef and La Cense beef - looking for quality not Omaha Steaks type crap.

There is surely a good butcher shop near where you live. Why would you do this?

Just exploring options and price differences. Not opposed to buying from a butcher shop been doing that all my life. Plus I'm kind of interested in grass fed beef.

I can't imagine myself EVER doing this. Not because I'm a food snob or anything but because I enjoy the process of picking out a cut of meat that matches the dish or my liking.

Online meat is probably about the same as online dating. Slim chance you get the product as described or as you like it.

I admit I would be scared and chances are I won't ever do it but was interested to know if anyone did and what their experience was.

Google Snake River Farms, Allen Brothers, and Lobel's. No crap there.

WHY? Do you live in the Sahara where there are no grocery stores?

Thomson Grazers is a grass fed farm here that I had some strips from, and while I am not a huge grass fed fan...they were pretty damn tasty.

I am looking at getting a quarter from there pretty soon. Looks healthier, but kinda pricey but I like to have a freezer of meat so you don't have to go to the store every day.

I've bought Lobels quite a bit over the years and it's great. They also have great hot dogs of all things.

Not so much now. I have Calandros, Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Maxwells so I normally can find what I want that is perfect.

And Whole Foods has grass fed beef. It's good and an acquired taste to most Americans used to corn fed beef.

Allen Brothers is solid if you don't have a good local butcher shop.
