My kids just went through a box of those this weekend. They are decent, but absolutely nothing tops Nutty Bars.

Was in Target today and saw those on the shelf. Immediately threw a box in the cart.

Nutty Bars were a staple of my childhood, esp for fishing trips, etc. but I recently had one and, damn, did it taste of waxy coating and too sweet peanut butter. So bad it made me want to engineer a homemade version with good chocolate, salted peanut butter, and way less sugar.

I refuse to buy them anywhere else when I can get boxes for a $1. Good way to prevent junk food purchases.
They have had recipe changes unfortunately to try to keep costs down and other reasons.

Nutty Bars are not the same we had in 80's/90s. Actually tastes like shite now.

Here's where I would normally say Cadbury Crème Eggs are better, but as I've aged I prefer cake to chocolate some of the time. I'll say 1a and 1b, depending on mood. And the fact you can get crème eggs year round now with all of the other variations they're putting out makes it not as much of an Easter treat. But Christmas Tree cakes are still the best.
