Taking a couples trip to the Louisville area in a few weeks. Definitely going to makers mark and Bulleit for tastings and tours. Any other recommendations for good bourbon stops between Louisville and Loretto?

Woodford is absolutely gorgeous. Go there. It's amazing.

Bulleit is one of the most informative tours. And the history there is awosome.

Buffalo Trace makes all of the best bourbons.

Wild Turkey will get you drunk.

If you get off at the Clermont exit on 65 you can hit Jim Beam and go about 5 miles east and hit the Four Roses warehouse tour and gift shop.

Those chocolate pecan balls at the Makers tour are awesome!
Jim Beam tour is nice as well.

I second the Woodford tour. It's really nice. Buffalo trace was cool but it was really crowded and a lot of people were there for the free tasting. I haven't been to the others yet. Wild turkey put a lot of money into revamping their tour facilities and looks right down into a valley. Can't speak to their tour though

Is Blanton's on that list? I'd be in big trouble if I went there....

Blanton's is buffalo trace.

Just did this last summer with the pops.

Off the top of my head we hit maker's, willet, heaven hill, barton, 4 roses, Woodford, Buffalo Trace, wild turkey, bulleit, and Evan Williams experience.

Makers is absolutely gorgeous and worth it for to see the grounds alone.

Willet tour was cut short by a tornado. I would recommend it just to get a feel for the smaller distillery.

Heaven hill we did the connoisseur room but no tour. I was disappointed in the offerings during the connoisseur, they had been better in the past.

Barton we didn't tour, just hit the gift shop.

4 roses was a good tour, cool Spanish architecture. Would hit it up just for the gift shop offerings.

Woodford is gorgeous and quaint. The drive in is my favorite. My buddy recommended the corn to cork tour, we couldn't get a spot because it was Kentucky Derby week.

Buffalo Trace was massive, we did the barrel tour and it was cool, a little more behind the scenes than your typical tour.

Wild turkey has a beautiful view from the gift shop, but we were toured out so we didn't do that one.

Bulleit was a decent tour, would recommend if you are in Louisville.

Evan Williams experience we did the prohibition room or whatever it was. I would recommend that because basic tours get repetitive. They had the best tastings by far and I was very surprised.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Awesome information. How much do these tours typically cost? Are they all in the general price range?

Prices vary. I think all were $30 and under. Check websites for details.

I don't really recall so they couldn't have been too outrageous. Probably 10-20 per person? I think the connoisseur room was the most expensive but still under 30 probably.

Forgot we also did the hard hat tour at buffalo trace.

heaven Hill in Bardstown is a good trip. You also have Willet and Barton distilleries in a 2 square mile area. In Louisville the Evan Williams experience is fun.
