Something like $32.50 a pop for an 8 inch cake. That's criminal pricing.

I'll try one if presented, but it doesn't sound great to me.

I wasn't a fan. Especially with syrup on it. I've never been a fan of syrup on savory items though.

Yep, just buy an actual king cake and a few links of boudin. I wasn't really impressed with the one we got from Twins last year, especially considering it cost almost $40.

Read this recipe and tell me if you think it sounds good. I won't be able to go to lafayette or the other places mentioned between now and friday.

Saw this posted on Facebook yesterday. I am going to try and make it for an Endymion party next Saturday. Will post results

The Cajun donut company in Lafayette. The owner used to own 3 Meche's franchises, but decided to rebrand and go on his own a few years ago. Really good, but a bit pricey

I didn't eat them but their donuts are supposed to be real good, picked some up for a few clients visits a few weeks back. Here's their website for ordering king cakes and one of the options is a boudin king cake. www.shippingkingcakes.com

While it does look delicious, unless I happen to find myself in Lafayette around Mardi Gras sometime in the future I'll probably never know the taste. Shipping plus the cake goes for around $80.

Ok i think I'm going to try to make it. Sounds like no place in NO has it. I can hopefully get to that boudin place in hammond before they close tomorrow. I'll try to post picks. Undecided on what the topping will be.

Chris' Specialty Meats in Lakeview does a boudin king cake. Have never had one but I saw it pop up on my facebook newsfeed the other day.
