Recently had some Thai from Secret Thai in Chalmette. Whats the best one in the Baton Rouge area? And what do you order that's tasty?

Now that Rama is gone, Duang Tawan on Sherwood is the best.

For any other good ones, you have to risk your life and go north of I-12. Not interested, myself

Thai Pepper.

Duang Tawan wasn't good the last time I went a couple months ago, and I've never cared much for Thai Kitchen.

I usually only get yellow curry and lemon grass soup. Anyone have any other recs for Thai food?

Yellow curry is actually more Indian than Thai. I do like Thai Pepper's yellow curry, though. Massaman and Panang curries are good, too. It's hard to go wrong with Thai food... it's all good.

Did they do away with the Thai Pepper lunch buffet? I use to go months pre-covid.

Yes, their buffet is gone. I was just there a couple weeks ago and was told the buffet was not coming back, at least not any time in the foreseeable future.

And while I have always loved Thai Pepper, I have to so that the quality of the food was not so good this last time I went. I think they have a new cook and the food wasn't nearly as good. They were also out of several things and the portions were definitely smaller.

OP I usually get pad ped pla, duck pineapple curry, panang curry, and massaman curry.

Just checked Facebook, looks like they are taking a holiday break until Jan 17. And still take out only.

Agreed. For 20+ years Thai Pepper was my favorite restaurant in the city. Sad to hear it has fallen off.

I went to Thai Pepper last week and everything was on point. They’re always understaffed, but the food has been very good my last few visits. Duang Tawan is still to-go only, but they have some great dishes. I’ve only gone to Thai Kitchen a few times, but it’s been very good also. Good Thai options in BR are not lacking.
