Best Place to Get Oysters

I was in NOLA for Mardi Gras and my spoiled
brat brother in law suggested we go to Drago's. Had those “famous” oysters and it was okay.
Fast forward to last night. Now, hear me out. The GF decides she wants some oysters and we decide to hit up Joe’s Crabshack. I didn’t realize until we walked in that Joe’s actually has fresh gulf oysters. I actually
watched the guy shuck them myself!
After eating about a dozen and a half of them
last night, I would venture to say that Joe’s are just as good, if not better,
than Drago’s (FOR HALF THE PRICE NO LES!) What I like about Joe's is that you don't have to deal with pretentious hostesses and waiters. At Joe's you feel as if you haven't even left the comfort of home, the kind of vibe I look for when dining out.
Another plus is that Joe’s is right here in
BR, so the oysters are fresh, and I don’t have to travel far for them either. I guess my point is, how can one oyster be different from another? I believe if you’ve had one, you’ve had
them all and thats just the facts.

That's the first positive review I have ever heard about Joe's Crabshack.
Oysters vary from week to week. Depends on where they were harvested and what the conditions were when they were harvested. You can get great oysters from anywhere that serves them fresh, or you can get mediocre ones. Too many variables to say one place has great raw oysters while another place doesn't.

Probably because of how far from the truth it is.

Whatever you say, chief. Keep spending stupid amounts of money for a slimey shell fish you can get for half the price at other places.

thats a hot post. I am just posting the facts, Jack.
They are the same animal.
Why would I pay more at some stuffy restaurant when I can get great service and great atmostphere at a great price at Joe's Crabshack?

You do realize I'm not talking about comparing one place's gulf oysters to another's, right?
