How "near"?

ETA: so 3 options.

1. 2 blocks away is a cool place called The Grove. It's in the discover green park. Make good drinks and have pretty good food if you want an app or two.

2. The flying saucer

3. Mongoose vs Cobra

If willing to uber 3 minutes id do Mongoose Vs Cobra, but if not TheGrove is still a solid option.

The Grove or MKT Bar are both good options that are walking distance to Toyota center.

Would like walking distance. There's 8 of us so walking would be easier. If it was just the guys, I'd want a strictly whiskey or craft beer joint but the womenz won't go for that.

You're more than welcome to come grab a drink if you don't have plans.

Eta: we're actually gonna be staying at the Hyatt regency so anything close to that also. It's 3/4 mile from TC

If that's where youre staying and you want walking distance then I think the grove is your spot. Walk straight down Dallas and you'll basically be there. On the way back from the concert stick your head into Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in the Houston Pavilions. Cool little spot.

I'll shoot you a text if I'm not busy Saturday.

I don't know of many good options between the Hyatt Regency and the Toyota Center. The other suggestions made are the ones I would probably echo: the saucer, MKT bar, The Grove.

Cabs are $6 flat anywhere in downtown, but I have no idea if that includes midtown. You can probably look it up on the Houston Yellow Cab website.

Let us know what you decide to do. I'm going next Saturday on the 4th, and I'm curious how crowded the bars will be and how much of a cluster Uber will be with all of the friends in low places around.

Hearsay on the Green. I assume you're talking about the Garth concert. We have reservations at 5 for 10 people next Friday 7/3 before the concert. Good spot and A block from Toyota. Nice cocktails and fancy bar food.

Another vote for The Grove.

I was there 3 weeks ago. Beautiful and classy place. Floor to ceiling windows. Great drink menu.

I'm not as familiar with this area as others are, so take that FWIW. Would go back to The Grove anytime though.

ETA: I highly recommend staying across the street at the Hilton Americas.

Garth brooks I'm assuming? Best place near is the grove. But if you go to the north side there are a lot of really cool bars there and just a light rail away.

I'll be at the Double Tree Hilton for tomorrow night to see Garth Brooks. Any good food around there?
