Went to Peter Luger this year. It was the best steak experience I've personally ever had. Really great time. But you probably won't get reservations this close to the holidays

Sparks Steakhouse is my fave. Steak Fromage is to die for.

I have never enjoyed the experience at Lugers that much. Mobbed with tourists, not particularly good drinks either. If you like german beers halls than okay I just am not crazy about t for a $$$ steak. I do love the steak tho.

I like Keens and Sparks much more all around. Upper room at Keens is hard to beat.

Mine too. I know PL's always tops the list, but this is my personal favorite.

I've eaten at Club A and Del Friscos. Both amazing meals.

We went to Quality Meat last year during Christmas. It was pretty tasty.

Peter Luger supposed to be the place, however if you want to see where Jon Gotti had the old boss of NY killed go to Sparks.

I ate at Keen's several weeks ago and it was phenomenal. They have thousands of small pipes all over the walls and ceilings, it is a pretty cool atmosphere. We had a thick cut bacon appetizer that melted in my mouth that I would order every day for the rest of my life if I could.

If it is one of their specialties, then yes. There were about 15 of us at the table and whenever the waiter came out we told him to bring us 10 of the most popular dishes and whatever came out... just came out

To me once you get to the top echelon of steakhouses in NYC they are pretty similar.

I like Del Friscos more than any of the non-chains in NYC. However, it was like my "first love" of steakhouses so I'm a bit bias. If you want the Peter Luger experience without having to do the lines cash etc. then Ben & Jacks may be a happy medium.

Also, an underrated meat spot is Maloney & Porcelli. I had the pork shank there and it was DAMN fine

Peter Luger's Porterhouse (Brooklyn location) was the best steak I've ever had. They don't take credit cards so take cash and plenty of it.

Damn, I wonder how much cash the owner pockets every night under the table.

Had a great meal at Porter House recently. Great view and service as well. Start with the Pappy Old Fashioned and the filet tartare
