thanks Guys. Like I said all suggestions are appreciated. Jazz Fest is this weekend and I'm wanting to hit a few of the "not so well-known by out of towner and local favorite spots". Tried to avoid lazy terms that time. LOL

Non-Tourist Trap New Orleans Restaurants

Head Uptown and take your pick out of about 15 great places. Some of which are listed above. My personal favorites are Brigsten's, Patois, Lilette, Dante's Kitchen, Apolline, Upperline, Gautreau's.

That line in front of Acme Oyster House suggests otherwise, along with the schmoes eating breakfast at Brennan's.

My GF is from an old, old uptown family and loves Acme. Just sayin.

Liuzza's is my personal favorite. Big Frosted mugs of root beer, huge platters of seafood, great onion rings, and cheap enough for me to afford.

I like it when people say things twice for emphasis on a message board.

Oh, and yes, Casamento's.

I was at Napoleon House for dinner a few nights ago and have to say I found the food very disappointing. That muff is nowhere close to being respectable. However, I'll give some love to that Pimm's Cup.

That's cool, but if you have time head out to Mr. Ed's in Bucktown....they got a serious muff that puts all others to shame.
