What are your picks? I'm not really looking for John Besh, etc.'s take on the style, but rather something more authentic.

Well, John Besh joined up with a 1st generation Mexican-American so much of the menu is authentic.
Casa Barrega, Taqueria Guerrero, Canal St. Bistro for Mexican.
Maya's,for Latin. Mais Areapas for Columbian.

I like Taqueria Guerrero, their barbacoa tacos are good. My only problem with them is they don't sell alcohol.
