It's that time of year again! Give me your list of the establishments that sell your top 3 King cakes. I'm looking to venture out and try some new ones this year.
My top 3:
Antoine's traditional
Doung Phoung cream cheese
Randazzo's praline

Hi-Do Vietnamese Bakery, either the plain or cream cheese, is the best IMO.
For traditional, my favorite was McKenzie's.

Haydel's and Randazzo'a are my favorites. Throw in McKenzie's for grammar school nostalgia or when I only want sugar instead of icing.
Haydel's wins because I've never had to wait in a giant like to get one. Yesterday morning I decided at 8:45 that I wanted a king cake from them. I was back home by 9:05 with two king cakes. That doesn't happen with Randazzo's.

Yep. It was a sad day when my company did a reorg on sales territories and I lost NOLA. Use to schedule a trip the week before Mardi Gras and load up at Hi-Do.

McKenzie 197???? Old original plain sweet bread with colored sugar on top.
King cakes today or just over glorified cinnamon rolls.

This thread inspired me to drive to the west bank and grab a HiDo Cream Cheese this morning

There are still many "new" ones I've not tried, but I like ones from Doung Phoung and Gracious Bakery are my favorites. I bought Doung Phoung cakes from Pizza Nola last year. Anyone know of any other locations (outside the bakery itself)?
Gracious has a nectar cream flavor that will likely be my first this season.
