I'd say Draft Magazine's list is better than most...
DM 50 Best IPAs

Impossible to judge every IPA, but at least they put some serious thought into it. Some really good beers didn't make the cut.

Jai Alai is not a top 50 IPA. Also, no Heady Topper? WTF

Sure it is.

Agreed. Surest way to get clicks. Exclude something that normally tops all other lists.

Good people didnt make the top 50. Doesn't look like Pericious was reviewed...

No Parish no care. Amirite?

It's a pretty solid list. Seems like they put some time into it unlike some of the lists naming the most popular brewery in the state. It's hard to list and follow every beer since there are so many breweries now producing so many damn good beers.

I've had two of the top 50: Jai Alai and Todd the Axeman. I liked Focal Banger best of all three.

Shocked that Focal Banger wasn't sent as an entry.

I could probably pick out at least half a dozen on the cut list that most people would put ahead of Art Car. Not to mention a bunch that weren't even considered.

I won't protest too much, though. H-town Representin.

Trillium is obvious. I live in the greater Boston area now and they truly do crank out the best IPAs around, in my opinion. Everything I've had from Treehouse has been great, too.

However, there is no way that Rahr & Sons should be on this list over Alesmith.

I live within walking distance of Aeronaut and they put out some SOLID beer. I really like Dr. Nandu but the DIPAs are even better. The vibe there makes it my favorite local brewery.

Focal Banger was not on the list of beers that was evaluated. I'm sure they tried to get The Alchemist to send some beers, but it looks like they didn't try.

There are a lot of small craft brewer's on their list, so I suspect that they tried to get The Alchemist and Parish to provide beers. I can see why The Alchemist didn't send anything, but Parish should have taken the opportunity to show the country what they are doing.

Andrew was probably too busy doing cross fit and being a dick to send beers for this list.

I was hoping to see something from Narrow Gauge on there, but it doesn't look like they were reviewed either. They're making the best IPAs in St Louis. They're about to start canning one of them. But we go about once a month (it's a 30+ minute drive) and bring home 6 or so crowlers of the various IPAs on tap.
