Trying to plan a trip to Europe with some friends, and I think we've zeroed in on Basque Country, northern Spain and southern France. We've got 3 couples of young professional age (around 30), so not destitute but not OT baller status either. Anyone been and have good recommendations? Out main goals are too see cool stuff, eat awesome food, and drink wine. Pinxtos in San Sebastion is top of the list.

I think we're probably flying in and out of Bilbao and staying about 8 days.

San Sebastián is incredible. Beti-jai is my favorite Pinxto place in town, more modern than the traditional old town places but incredible. A Fuego Negro is a fun place for a group for a different take on Basque cuisine - drink a glass of wine on the steps of St. Mary and walk over. Love that town.

San Sebastien is one of the best eating and drinking cities in Europe, as is most of Spain. I havent been to Extebari but people who have rave about it. Its this restaurant in the middle of nowhere that cooks everything over live fire.
