do Brennans and if you have enough people they will give you a private room to dine.

Sorry, but Brennans is the most overprice tourist trap in the whole city.

I can let her and friends get away with Court of Two Sisters cause it isn't horrible and works well for a group like this, but please consider somewhere other than Brennans.
Save a bunch of money and have a much better meal at The Pelican Club or Muriels. They have some good specials right now.

your probably right about the tourist trap... It still was one of the best steaks ive had.

I am from MS and go to NOLA often, but i dont know the two places you just mentioned.

"The Pelican Club or Muriels" What are these like? can you give examples? I love finding new places to go out to.

I have no doubt you had a pretty good steak.
Next time you are in town and want a steak, try LaBoca in the warehouse district. It is a Argentina(maybe south American) style of steakhouse. Not one of those cheesy all you can eat meat skewer places. Exellent odd cuts of meat such as hanger, skirt, or flank steak, etc.
LaBoca

Here is the menu for the Pelican Club. One of the better quarter restaurants. Right now this menu I am linking is for the coolinary deal. 3 course for $35
Pelican Club

Here is the website for Muriels. They are located next to Jackson Square, so of course it is somewhat touristy, but the food and good and not that over the top expensive.
Right now they have a coolinary special, which is three courses for $29. The shrimp and goat cheese crepes are killer.

Those choices mean these girls are hopeless. As long as these sluts end up at gold mine, it's game on.

At Oceana, I enjoy the half of a smoked duck which is served with potatoes and sauteed vegetables, but I usually only eat there after 10pm when other restaurants close since they serve until (I want to say 1am). Their food beats a Lucky Dog and other late night options. The menu should be able to please everyone, and is cost effective for someone traveling on a budget. If you're willing to drop a couple more bucks, a place like NOLA would make for a more memorable meal.

Not sure if Oceana still does this, but there used to be a gentleman who would stand outside the door with menus. If you look like you're undecided about eating there, he would break out a 10% off coupon to try to get you to come in.

I'm very curious as to how the person who selected Oceana came to that decision.

There is obviously other things planned other than eating but seeing as this is the food and drink board I was asking for some suggestions on what to eat at these places.

Like I said.. I had no choice in the places the reservations were made.. if i had i wouldn't have picked any of these three.

Have fun and please report back on your experience.
Be sure you all don't spend all of your time parading up and down Bourbon. At least go to Frenchman St. and hear music and such. Start at DBA.

$200/hr or $500 for the night. Tips welcome

Its not my choice, i guarentee you if it was i won't be going to any of those places.

This is the kind of thing that is disappointing. People who have never been to N.O. go to the worst places in the Quarter (no exaggeration) and then complain that they were disappointed. Do the girls a favor and talk them out of it and take the suggestions you've been given.

Court of Two Sisters and Brennan's are garbage.

ETA: It'll take you 30 minutes to make alternate reservations at the places people in this thread highlighted. After you do that you can approach your crew and let them know you have better options already set up.

As things stand right now you gals are shitting the bed.
