Been interested in the Irish staple mushy peas lately. Never had a real batch of them. Apparently they are cooked like red beans - low, slow, flavored, "mushed."

But online search is revealing many different recipes. Since I've never had them, I'm not sure which one to go with.

Googled Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey mushy peas recipe

Mushy Peas

Figured either of them would be a good starting point, here's a link to Jamie's

Jamie Oliver's was the first I found and read a ton of reviews saying it's no where near authentic. You can't use frozen peas for the dish and need to source marrowfat peas. I think split green peas work.

Did you mean (marrow beans) the ones that taste like bacon? If so you can buy them here.

Marrow fat doesn't really taste at all like bacon, though.

Gotta say I'm no fan of mushy peas. Tried at least four or five versions during a spring trip to London & environs; didn't find much to like. Tried one version in Dublin last winter; equally meh. Those things need some seasoning.
