Louisiana has more than 200,000 acres of crawfish production, producing more than $170 million dollars in 2015. August flooding might have caused some ponds to lose crawfish.

Is this the annual PR campaign to drive up prices in consumers' minds?

Then prices will miraculously fall right after Easter.

Got to admire them for getting out the talking points so early. Usually they wait until December before blaming everything for rising crawfish prices.

How about they just let out information if the price is going to be low. Oh yea that will never happen and we all know it. The crawfish industry is laughable with this stuff

Pawl, why do all those mean boys pick on you? You seem very knowledgeable, intelligent, ruggedly masculine, as well as in touch with your feminine side,, sometimes too tightly with both hands, I might add. jmo.

Anyway, I'll pray for you, shithead.

The August flooding followed by the October drought was the absolute worst weather for crawfish production.

Okay well since I'm sure some of you don't know, this is what happened:

Rice gets flooded way sooner and deeper/longer than it should. Crawfish come out way too early. Many die due to heat/O2 depletion in water. Couple that with a drought, yeah, pas Bon.
