I'm really partial to Litehouse Blue Cheese dressing but have had real trouble finding it in stores. I figure it can't be too hard to make because the ingredients are canola oil, buttermilk, garlic powder, egg yolk and blue cheese. I'm thinking about playing with proportions to make my own but was curious if anyone has a recipe for it that they really like.

I always make my own and this is excellent!

1 clove garlic(pressed)
1/4t. black pepper
1/4t. onion salt
1T plus 1t. red wine vinegar
1/3t. worcestershire sauce
1/3c. sour cream
1c. mayo
1 1/2 oz buttermilk
pinch of white pepper
hot sauce to taste
3oz. bleu cheese

you will never buy store bought again

Very easy to make your own. I eat that stuff alone by the spoonful. I'm such a degenerate.

Thanks for the great suggestions.

I made a version that tastes just like Litehouae but the color is a bit off. here are the proportions but it could be fudged for consistency.

1tbsp canola
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup buttermilk
1tsp granulated garlic
1/3 cup blue cheese crumbles

I'm guessing egg yolks vs. mayo would've made the color better.

Making your own is very easy, but I really love Cousin's.
