The taste is difficult to cover if you don't like it.

Slice it thin or pound it 1/8 inch thin, bread with seasoned flour and pan fry in oil. remove when done and make a brown flour gravy. Add onions and a little red wine and return the liver to the gravy. Cook it until the liver gets tender and serve over rice or noodles or with sautéed onions and hash brown potatoes to make a liver hash.

Honestly I never had it. I like beef tongue and menudo

But never had liver.

I'm mainly wanting to eat it for the protein and other nutrients and since that's where the steroids and growth hormones go to the liver I figured I'd try it.

I went from being fit to obese so I'm trying to lower my carbs (starches), up my greens (kale, spinach) will be my primary source of carbs; I will increase my protein and eat more fat to use as my fuel source. And am open to eating some organ parts

Go to your local Gas station fried chicken place and buy some fried chicken livers. If you like them (which I do), you will probably like beef liver.

Chicken livers are my preference, but I eat beef liver when I can get it. We probably do it at home twice a year.

Liver is awesome, but it's not for everyone.

It's usually purchased frozen at the stores, so it's sous vide cooking to the rescue.

With my water bath set to 150 degrees, I drop in the frozen liver right in the packaging it came from as it's already vacuum sealed. I let it swim for an hour and a half, the first hour actually being the thawing process, the second hour bringing it up to temp.

I'll cut some bacon into lardons and crisp them up while also caramelizing some onions and simmering potato cubes in other vessels.

When the bacon's done, I'll strain it out, then quickly fry the liver with a touch of the bacon fat, just to get some color on it, remembering that it's already cooked all the way through.

That gets a quick rest while I wilt some fresh spinach with some sauteed garlic in another touch of the bacon fat.

Plate it up, and it looks exactly like this...

What you want is calf's liver, not beef liver. The flavor is much milder.

I love it. Unfortunately most restaurants that sell it overcook the hell out of it.

If you can eat menudo you can eat anything. That shite is horrid. Eat beef liver raw with a side of go frick yourself and it will taste better than menudo.

I gather you're talking about Mexican menudo. Philippine menudo is totally different and very tasty.
