I had a hangar steak a couple of nights ago that was about the best beef meal I have ever had.

Tender and so much flavor.

I agree that if cooked properly a lesser cut is still very tasty. However, if you take a really nice cut and cook it properly then you get something unmatchable.

I like a hangar or flank. Don't know if I prrefer them over a high grade ribeye, but done right they are badass.

Hangers are excellent, chuck roast, short ribs, oxtails, London broil and a perfectly medium rare sirloin sliced thin with chimichurri is really great.

So yes I'm a fan.

Back in the day...flank and skirt were very inexpensive and when prepared properly are 2 fantastic tasting cuts of meat....so of course now the shite is expensive all of a sudden.

Hangar and skirt with some salt on a hot grate is awesome.

Got damn the fajita craze and what it has done to those two cuts of beefs prices.

Yeah, but for $10-15 you can get a huge skirt or flank. Enough for a bunch of people..

I haven't priced it out anywhere else in a while but here in FL the shite runs at about 9 bucks a pound!

I love roasting beef ribs. So tender and you can get a huge slab for $8 at Target or basically anywhere.

I love a good hanger and apparently lots of others do too. That's why hangers and flanks are increasing so rapidly in price.

I don't often eat beef. But when I do, it's filet mignon.

I don't prefer the less expensive cuts, but I buy them frequently and can make them work. Always nice to splurge on a thick, marbled ribeye.

I lived in Miami...and yes they are expensive down there.

Cubans are the reason.

I would never admit to eating a cheap cut of beef...

What would people say about me?

Nothing...unless you microwaved or "blanched" it to a medium grey then topped it with an expensive ketchup.

As I noted above and a few weeks ago also, FAJITAS are the reason for the prices reaching the level of prime cuts of meat/lb.

He said less expensive. Flank steak prices have risen dramatically over the last few years.
